-With 17 to 24 players, you’ll need three sets of the 8-player game.
How to start to play the Hobbit Draft Game?
Players sit around a table. For 9 or more players, divide the players into groups of equal size, with no more than 8 players per table.
Each player takes a main deck and randomly takes a Bilbo and a Gandalf (see Main deck).
How to create the boosters packs?
Depending on the number of players at the table, you have to shuffle several packs together (see Boosters), use the following generator to randomly create your boosters.
If there are 2 tables or more, use the same Supplementary Packs at each table, but not the same Swarm Packs and Beatdown Packs.
How the draft works?
Each player is given a booster pack.
- Each player picks one card from their pack.
- Then they pass the remaining cards to the next player (left for the first pack, right for the second, left for the third).
- Repeat until all cards are picked.
- Open another booster pack, repeat the pick and pass process until all packs are drafted.
By the end, each player has a pool of cards from which they will build their deck using the cards from their main deck.
How to build your deck?
Using the cards from your main deck along with the cards obtained during the draft, construct your deck as follows: include an equal number of Free Peoples and Shadow cards (Bilbo is not counted), with a minimum of 60 cards in total, including 9 sites.
Then you can start a Hobbit Draft Game tournament using a Swiss round format.
Matches are played using the rules of Lord of the Rings TCG produced by Decipher Inc., except that the Ring-bearer is replaced by a Burglar.
